Volunteers
Solstice volunteers will receive an event t-shirt as well as the admiration of many. We are currently seeking volunteers to help us in the timing tent, at the feed zone or at road crossings for approximately a 4 hour shift.  If you would like to volunteer please send an email to our volunteer coordinator Matt Paziuk at info@chicoracing.com .

Specialized 2012
Specialized is a proud sponsor of the 15th anniversary of the Summer Solstice. Come and visit the Specialized booth at the race and take a 2012 Specialized bike out for a ride & some other fun surprises! If you are riding a Specialized bike on lap you will receive truly royal treatment: reserved bike parking in the holding area, special prizes on course and other perks. Because we love to have fun, we’ll also be offering prizes for the best costume, team with the most spirit, and others. Keep watching the Chico website for more info and surprises as we get closer to the race!

We're giving away a Specialzed Epic Comp 29er as a draw prize. You will have to come to the awards ceremony to win it!

Albion Hills Trail Improvements at Work!
The 2012 course is going to feature continued improvements as some major grants have been accessed to improve Albion's trails, drainage and sustainability. We have received amazing reviews on our 2010 and 2011 24 hour courses with way more flow, fun and sustainability than in previous years.

No Night Category
Not comfortable about riding in the night or purchasing or renting lights - enter the 3-4 Person No Nite Category and get all the same 24 hour benefits without the night riding. You will still get all the 24 hour benefits, however your race will finish at dusk and restart at dawn. Your team will get a total of approximately 15 hours of riding at Solstice. Perfect category for first time 24 hour riders!

Categories
Other categories include solo, tag team, 4, 5 or 6-10 person teams. Riders and teams are encouraged to ride as many or as few laps as you'd like in any sequence. We promote a fun, friendly and inclusive atmosphere so everyone enjoys the ride and the event!

The Course - 17 KM of Fun, Great For Everyone!
The "double f" formula for the 24-hour is Fast and Fun. About 40% of the course is single-track, while rolling doubletrack allows both a mental break and a chance to allow passing. This is a great course for mountain bikers of most abilities, ages and fitness levels with "easy/hard" re-routes around the most difficult sections.

Pre-Riding
Pre-riding will be open late Friday afternoon, June 15th, 2012. This is preliminary marking only and the course should be ridden with extra caution.
