Combining the thrill of off-road running or hiking with the camaraderie of a team event, the TREAD 6 Hour Team Relay is the perfect team event to enjoy the outdoors!  Teams of up to 4 people will send 1 person at a time on an Epic 4 km trail with twisty ascents and harrowing descents. After completing your lap you’ll tag off to your team mate and enjoy the festivities as you cheer on your friends - all while raising funds to bring hope to youth and families fighting substance abuse and mental health problems in Ontario. The most memorable 6 hours you’ll spend all year!

Race solo, or on a team of 2, 3 or 4, this event offers an amazing experience for trail runners looking to run solo or as part of a team. Registration closes on Thursday, May 24 at midnight.

The Charity
Pine River Foundation raises and stewards funds to support Pine River Institute as a centre of excellence in care and research for youth struggling with mental health issues and specifically substance abuse, and their families. The Institute was founded by a dedicated group of visionary volunteers and donors who raised the funds to open the first comprehensive, family-centered treatment program for troubled teens in Canada in 2006. Committed to treatment, research and evaluation, Pine River Institute helped to change public policy, and the program is now supported by two provincial ministries, and helped pave the way for more treatment facilities in the province.  Pine River Foundation supports excellence, integrity, and innovation in the study and practice of adolescent mental health and substance abuse treatment through training and education, professional collaboration, and outreach. We nurture long-term relationships with our alumni families, and with the professional community in Canada and beyond.

Course
The 4 km course for teams, or 7 km course for solos, will feature a great mix of singletrack, a tough climb and some beautiful open doubletrack overlooking the vistas of the Hockley Valley. Team events are extremely popular in mountain biking. So why not trail running? Team relays are fun because you'll cheer your friends, and work as a team, while competing with each other's lap.
